Rosita T. Uy, our great grandmother and the woman our business is named after, was born into poverty in the early 1900s — a harsh beginning that could have broken her spirit.
Sold as a child slave to a Chinese family, she faced a reality most could not endure. Yet rather than be broken, she was shaped. The hardship forged in her a quiet, unshakable strength.
Growing up in servitude, she learned discipline, humility, and an unwavering work ethic — lessons that would define her long after freedom finally came.
Determined to build a life defined not by hardship but by purpose, she persevered with vision and resilience, refusing to let her origins write the ending of her story.
From the most painful of beginnings, Rosita T. Uy rose to become a respected matriarch and entrepreneur in Cebu — a testament that greatness can emerge from even the humblest of origins.
Every loaf we bake, every customer we serve, carries a piece of her story. She is not just our namesake — she is our reason.
